They’re not quite enemies. Not really friends. More like frustrated balls of sexual tension and neither will give in.

Lance Gibson drives Mariah Malarkey absolutely crazy. He uses her office like a phone booth, takes cupcakes from the corner of her desk like she baked them just for him. She didn’t. Maybe she knew the history teacher happened to love peanut butter icing, but that was purely a coincidence. All sixteen times.

Mariah has a way of getting under Lance’s skin too. She calls him out on his crap, spoils him even if inadvertently, and seeing the librarian in skirts drives him wild. She won’t give in. It’s for the best, really, considering there’s no way he could lie to a woman like that and he’s not about to tell her the truth about himself. Not in a million years.

These two don’t hate each other. They don’t really like each other. But for this to be a friends-to-lovers story, they have to start somewhere, right?

Note: This can be read as a standalone novel.

Craft is the second book in The Gibson Boys series by Adriana Locke. Craft is part of a series but can easily be read as a stand alone. This was only my second book by Adriana (Author), so I still didn’t know how I felt about her writing style or characters but am pleased to say she hasn’t disappointed and I thoroughly enjoyed Craft. In fact I loved it!

The Gibson Boys series is all about, well the Gibson boys obviously. Lance is the brother of Walker who the first book Crank was about. You do get a little Walker time in this book, but the story mostly focuses on Lance and Mariah. Lance and Mariah have a fantastic flirting, working relationship (They both work in a school, Lance a teacher and Mariah the librarian) filled with banter and cup cake stealing. I don’t want to say too much more than that as I hate giving spoilers and there are a few things revealed later in the book which answer questions you probably would have early on. I will say both Lance and Mariah are complex characters. Things have happened in the past which have molded how they are today in Craft and the people they’ve become. I loved both characters. I laughed along with them, my heart melted with them, I loved their chemistry and my eyes even teared up a little towards the end. The story does have a HEA and its not an over the top, unrealistic one which are my favourite kind of romance books.

I love the story Adriana has created with Craft. I fell in love with Lance and would happily have Mariah as a friend. Nanna is brilliant and I kind of hope that we will hear somehow about the students still, as some stuck out more than others. Its been a very long time since I gave a romance 5 stars, but I couldn’t fault this book and am super excited to read Crave next (Machlan’s story). If you love a good romance with great characters and some humour, give Craft a go. If you’ve not read Crank then I recommend that too. Both books are available on Kindle Unlimited if you subscribe, so free reads! 5 stars.
