We used to be close.
We used to be best friends.
Until we became enemies all over again...

Courtney Ryan ruined our on and off again friendship with one swipe of her sexy, red pen. After the final rude message she wrote in my yearbook, I decided that we didn't need to see each other anymore. (But if we ever did, I would show her exactly why I had every reason to be "cocky," and make her admit that I really *was* "that damn sexy.")

Now that it's ten years later, I've graduated from law school at the top of my class, and I'm being recruited to work at the number one law firm in New York City.

Since I'm in desperate need of a change and want to meet new people, I don't hesitate to accept the offer.

Until I find out that Courtney Ryan graduated from law school, too.
Until I realize that she'll be working at the same exact firm, in the office right across from me.

And if this timing isn't unfortunate enough, she's far more tempting and sexier than I originally remembered.
(Oh, and last night I found out that she livesĀ right next door...)

We don't have to be close.
We don't have to be best friends.
But she's going to pay me back for making us enemies all over again...

My Enemy Next Door isn’t my first book by Whitney G (Author with Nicole London), in fact I’ve read a lot of her books. Most of the time I can say I love her work. It has the right amount of drama/angst, hot characters I’m usually attracted too, female leads who I actually like and a story that I delve into and get lost in the characters’ lives. But of late, I’ve felt her work hasn’t been as great, or on par to what she used to write. Still I went into Enemy Next Door hoping it would be good.

I liked Courtney as a character. I loved that she was nerdy and hot. Sassy but smart. I liked that she fought for what she wanted and was faithful to her friends. She was everything really I would seek in a friend. Jace was a great BBF, he was hot, funny, cocky and intelligent. Plus he was attentive when it came down to it.

As a whole I love second chance stories. But this didn’t really feel anything new to me in that respect although in the New Adult genre its kind of hard to be original now. But again, it was a case of lack of communication and low and behold things may have worked out first time. Still I enjoyed the story, the pace and loved it was told both in the past from both characters points of view and in the present too.

I want to add, I don’t think Whitney has lost her touch as an author, I still think she’s got that spark and the right ingredients for stories. Its just they are coming across as rushed and not as developed as her previous books. I still am and will remain a fan of her work, one of my all time favourite books is be her. I just want the old Whitney back!

My Enemy Next Door is a sweet, second chance with a HEA story which will please most New Adult fans, but it didn’t blow me away hence the 3.5 star rating – kindle unlimited so free read for those who subscribe.
