Romantic Suspense, Dark, Romance

I should’ve known she would ruin me the moment I saw her.
Women like her are made to destroy men like me.
I couldn’t resist her though.
Given to me to start a war; I was too eager to accept.

But I didn’t know what she’d do to me. That she would change everything.
She sees through me in a way no one else ever has.
Her innocence and vulnerability make me weak for her and I hate it.
I know better than to give in to temptation.

A ruthless man doesn’t let a soul close to him.
A cold-hearted man doesn’t risk anything for anyone.
A powerful man with a beautiful woman at his mercy … he doesn’t fall for her.

Merciless, another new offering from Willow Winters? Where does this lady find the time? Merciless (I want to say although it isn’t noted on Goodreads) continues the story where Possessive left off. This time the story is set around Carter (Daniel’s brother) and Aria (A rival crime lords daughter). I absolutely loved Possessive, so was eager to get started on this bad boy.

When it comes to romantic suspense there has to be just the right element of romance, twists and of course turmoil. Willow has crafted something so much more than that with Merciless. As I read over the pages I fell in love with Carter. Wow, talk about depth. What I love about her books as they feel so real. I ignored everyone while reading this and probably agreed to all sorts (God help me when my children remind me I said Yes to something while reading this!). Carter is handsome, at times enigmatic, dark, dominant and so intriguing! And Aria, I loved her and related to many parts of her personality. Its a rarity that I love both leading characters, but I really did. I consumed Merciless and I’m not going to give you spoilers but cannot recommend this story enough. There really is a little of every genre within these pages.

I read Merciless over two sittings and was not disappointed, well maybe I was as the book obviously had to come to an end. Plus I hate to say this people but, CLIFFHANGER! There will be a second part to Merciless and more Carter and Aria. Please though (For those who hate cliffhangers), still give Merciless a read. I can’t wait to read what happens for these two characters! To conclude if you can’t work it out for my review I thoroughly enjoyed Merciless. It covered all bases for me; the story flowed beautifully, it was gripping, the characters were ones I loved and the ending… Well, you’ll have to read it to see what happens and be left feeling, ‘Wow, I need that next book now!’ 4.5 stars, highly recommend this book and still love Willow’s work!
